MTN Mobile Money Uganda has unveiled its 2026 “Win school fees for a year and more” campaign, reinforcing the telecommunications giant’s commitment to easing the education financing burden for Ugandan families.

The initiative, now in its third year, offers parents and guardians who pay school fees through the MoMo platform a chance to win full tuition coverage for an entire academic year.

The timing couldn’t be more critical, as education costs continue to strain household budgets across the country.

Participation is straightforward. Parents and guardians simply dial 16580# to complete their school fees payments digitally, automatically entering the draw for the grand prize and other rewards.

“Education remains one of the most powerful enablers of progress for individuals and for the country as a whole,” said Richard Yego, Managing Director of MTN MoMo Uganda. “Through this campaign, we are going beyond convenience to deliver meaningful support that can change the course of a family’s future.”

The campaign extends beyond individual families to include educational institutions as strategic partners. Schools and bursars that register to collect fees through the MoMo platform gain access to faster reconciliation, improved transaction tracking, and enhanced security through cashless payments.

As an added incentive, participating schools stand a chance to win a school van, a prize designed to support daily operations and improve service delivery.

Recognizing that lump-sum school fees payments present challenges for many families, MTN MoMo is also promoting its School Fees Loans feature.

This financial product gives parents and guardians the flexibility to settle fees on time, preventing disruptions to their children’s education. Customers who apply for these loans through the MoMo platform automatically qualify for the campaign’s prize draw.

“Paying school fees is one of the most important financial commitments for parents and guardians,” noted Jemima Kariuki, Chief Product Officer at MTN Mobile Money Uganda. “Our goal is to make that process simpler, more secure, and more rewarding.”

The campaign aligns with MTN’s broader “Power to Be More” platform, which aims to remove barriers in Ugandans’ daily lives through practical digital solutions.

By encouraging digital payment adoption while offering tangible rewards, MTN MoMo continues to position itself as a key player in Uganda’s education sector, making quality learning more accessible to families nationwide.
