From CallerTunez to keys in hand! Vincent Kiiza became the first boda boda winner of MTN Uganda’s Digida N’akayimba Ko promotion, riding away with a brand-new motorcycle after activating “Sikiwa” by Fik Fameica as his Caller Tunez.

MTN Uganda has handed over the first motorcycle under the second season of its Digida N’akayimba Ko promotion, as the telecommunications company expands a campaign offering 20 motorcycles and Shs42 million in cash prizes to customers.

Vincent Kiiza received the motorcycle on Thursday after activating “Sikiwa” by Ugandan musician Fik Fameica as his Caller Tunez, the service that allows callers to hear selected music while waiting for a call to be answered.

The promotion builds on last year’s campaign, in which customers won 18 motorcycles and Shs30 million in cash by activating their favourite Caller Tunez, MTN Uganda said.

Customers can participate in the latest campaign by dialling 17012# and downloading a preferred Caller Tunez song for Shs700. They can also copy another customer’s tune by pressing * or # while calling them. Eligible activations provide entries into the campaign’s prize draws.

MTN Uganda’s Senior Manager for Digital Services, Susan Kayemba, said the promotion was designed to reward customers while expanding the reach of Ugandan music.

“Digida N’akayimba Ko is about celebrating the music that connects us as Ugandans while rewarding our customers for engaging with the services they enjoy,” she said.

The celebrations were in full swing at Katwe Usafi Market! Star performer Ava Peace lit up the stage as we handed over the first motorcycle under MTN Uganda’s Digida N’akayimba Ko promotion.

The motorcycles could also provide winners with an opportunity to earn an income, support their families or establish small businesses, the company said.

The campaign forms part of MTN Uganda’s efforts to promote local music through its digital services. Caller Tunez enables artists to reach wider audiences and earn royalties from the use of their music.

MTN Uganda urged customers to guard against fraudsters, saying winners would be contacted through its official line, 0312120000. Customers are not required to pay fees or transfer Mobile Money to claim prizes, and should not disclose their Mobile Money PINs.
